We have a new Mountain Blue Bird Cam that just went online!
Very exciting. Worked with Artist Kalon Baughan to set this up.

Wow, life as a baby bird must be boring. I wonder what they do to past the time...

1. Chirp about the world and flying
2. Eating
3. Fighting for the best place in the nest
4. Sleeping
5. Avoid becoming food
6. Practice singing
7. Growing

That's all I got...

Jebus, never knew how much a baby bird could move in 3 seconds until now. <.<

There was a big storm with winds and hail yesterday.
Now the female has gone missing.

Picture from the nest site.

Very nice pictures.
I hope the female is ok, and finds her way back.

I believe I was lucky enough to see a gray head pop in this morning (11:45am est, for me), and all their little beaks were wide open. Of course, I do suppose that, since it was washed out and due to the angle, it might have been the male, but I'm rather positive it was the female- it just seemed far too gray for the male.
No picture, however. Sad

I've witnessed three returns so far from the parents. As to whether it's the name or female in any of them, however, I'm not yet certain... And no images, since I sorta messed up the pasting...

And now a question... is the middle chick alright? I'm curious to whether that pinkish-reddish coloring is just harmless, or an actual injury? Though I'm leaning towards injury...

And finally, my waiting payed off. I pulled myself away from typing all this to look at the webcam, and saw a parent returned. And it appeared to be a pretty good one, too! (Sometime around 12:20pm est)

I was able to spy some beautiful blue coloring on the chick in the top left. Though I guess it's also possible it was the webcam color distortion... Hope it wasn't!
