'' In U.S. the warmongers are called hawks, and the peace offers are the pigeons.
The symbol is not totally correct.
The pigeon can be cruel and regardless in a figth against a rival.
The hawk is different from the pigeon. It only kills to eat.
Pigeons seems to miss the sense for ''fair play'', i.e. it does not have the stop that that reacts for the sign of submission / surrender.

In a figth the weakest will flee. If it cannot flee, it will be killed by it's rival.
Caugth in a box, the weakest will not be given any chance to flee, and get's killed.

Normally, a figth between to of the same specie and gender, will end when one of them show submission.
''

Pigeons figth to death ( if the weaker cannot flee) when they challenge each other. Wolves kills dogs because they see the dogs as a rival about the food, not for ''rankings''.

They werent pigeons, they were called doves. The people who wanted war against Germany (i think it was, i forgot) Were called Hawks. The ones who didnt want war were called Doves, because doves represent peace in most areas arond the world. Confused

Well, I have no idea what ya just said Saphia, but we see more doves than pigeons. We normally see doves, crows (at times), or even humming birds if you're lucky around here. We see pigeons more in Chicago, and I just went there yesturday. (it's 2 a.m., so it's yesturday) Yeah, I see some cardinals too, but I never see any pigeons fighting, only following me arounld for food.

oh yeah, well in england we have seagulls,in wich will fight more then death, they push their opponents dead bodys or rather "fly off with it and drop it in the road" so its squished, wich in fact is disgusting, and i was walking in town and a dead teen seagull, fall from the sky, into the road, and was squashed by a bus,and pidgeons in enland stay away from eachother unless its a girl pidgion, if their is a couple of boy pidgions around 1 girl,it gets ugly....Rolling Eyes

(i think it was a teen seagull because it was the size of an adult, but had baby feathers)

Hi Sorrel, don't worry about it.
We will start locking topics that get too old so there will be no need to mention this anymore.
